Bastrop County is located south east of Austin and the County seat is the town of Bastrop. Bastrop County is vibrant and growing. The Colorado River winds it’s way thru Bastrop County on the way south to the Gulf and the towns of Bastrop and Smithville are right on the river.

Bastrop County Subdivisions
Bastrop County is very diversified and offers lots of wonderful choices to home buyers. With Austin being so close Bastrop County has become a bit of a bedroom community for those buyers looking to have all of the amenities that a big city has to offer within a short drive but in a more rural environment.There are wonderful subdivision scattered throughout the County.
Hunters Crossing and Riverside Grove are a couple of developments right in the town of Bastrop. Tahitian Village, and Pine Forest are great examples of subdivisions that are nestled in the pines with light covenants. ColoVista is an upscale development that surrounds a top notch golf course just outside of Bastrop in the pines. If you like a little more space The Colony, River Crossing, and La Reata Ranch are just a few of the rural residential developments with larger “estate style” properties. For lake living you can consider Indian Lake or Lake Thunderbird. The river lifestyle is offered in Doty River Estates.
Things To Do In Bastrop County
There is plenty of fishing in area lakes and the Colorado River in Bastrop County, not to mention the larger acreages that have private lakes, and stocked tanks! There are two large parks for hiking and for the golfers there are four golf courses. Recently the Hyatt Regency developed a beautiful destination resort property. There is a dinosaur park and a small zoo among other attractions.
