Elgin Texas is located east of Austin on Hwy 290 on the way to communities like Giddings and Brenham on the way to Houston and the coast.

Established in the late 1800′s it is one of Bastrop Counties larger towns. Access is good for commuting in to Austin and Elgin is a great area for horse properties with Manor Downs and horse racing located between Austin and Elgin. There is a very well known Equine Vet in Elgin.
