The area known as Watterson is located between Hwy 304 and Hwy 20 just south of the Bastrop area about nine miles and is accessible by an old road off of CR 210 or CR 211
About Watterson Texas
First settled in 1852 by Charles Coffin and Martha Watterson, along with Samuel and Caroline Wolfenbarger, and originally known as Live Oaks, the community was renamed in 1891 in honor of the pioneer Watterson who was also the town’s postmaster in 1878. The historical fifth generation Watterson Ranch is open to the public for varied activities.
