Bastrop in Bastrop County Texas

Bastrop is located on the Colorado River in Bastrop County just southeast of Austin approximately 30 minutes on Highway 71.  Bastrop is the county seat and was established in the late 1800’s.  Downtown Bastrop has a wonderful vintage/historic feel on Main Street and there are some wonderful vintage and historic homes in the downtown area.   Bastrop is a commutable area for people who want a more rural lifestyle who may work in Austin.   Austin Bergstrom International Airport sits between Bastrop and Austin offering great access for Bastrop residents.  The area around Bastrop is growing and there are lots of great new box stores, restaurants, and shopping.  There are lots of housing options in Bastrop besides the downtown area that are close to local schools and ammenties.
