I received this picture via email. It had been passed on from lots of people and I just can’t resist posting it for all to see. With foaling season at hand, and with the screwy weather we are all having someone out there somewhere may need to duplicate this in a pinch if they get caught with a new foal and bad weather ! My husband just recently hauled four horses from Bastrop Texas to a small town in southern Onterio Canada area. Each night of the trip across the US there were planned stops where the horses could be unloaded for for some down time each night. The last stop was at Windmill Equestrian Centre Inc. in Casco Michigan. Many times horses may not drink as much water as you would like them to if the water is super cold like we are experiencing here in Central Texas right now (1/2010). I learned a trick from an old horseman in Colorado, Virgil Lawson, who carried around peppermint oil in his ranch truck. I am so excited about the expansion in the works at South Texas Tack in Brenham Texas. If you have a horse ( or two or three…..) this will be your favorite shopping trip! I received this email today and felt that I should post it in the hopes that some of you out there can help. Times are tough and horses are paying the price…please…dig deep and help in any way you can – Earlier this evening, we received the call we dread the most. Another massive seizure of 60 horses in I have learned first hand that transporting horses can be simple and fun or difficult and aweful either a short distance or a long distance. Most horse owners have their own horse trailers that can range from small to large. For those days when you just want to get away and ride off into the sunset to unwind here in Central Texas , you should consider packing up your favorite trail horse and your riding buddies and heading to any one of these great spots. Remember that you have to bring your current proof of a negative Coggins test with you! I have had the pleasure of working with Devon Rose over the past four years with my weanlings and my walk trot gelding Jigsaw. Devon has a great way of communicating with both horse and rider. She has done wonderful things for me and my horse after I experienced a bad wreck and had basically quite riding. “Skipper” is a large well muscled colt with a bright look that catches your eye. He is grand son of World Champion Obsessed to Impress and the late Skipalong Paint another World Champion and Color Producer.
