Williamson County is north of Austin, Austin itself is located in Travis County, to the east is Lee County, just a bit southeast of Austin is Bastrop County, and a bit further southeast towards the coast is Fayette County. Caldwell County is directly south of Austin and below it you will find Gonzales County. Hays County is to the southwest of Austin.
