Hays County is as varied at the many other counties surrounding the Austin area in Central Texas. Buda is south of Austin along the I-35 corridor to San Antonio. South further is San Marcos which is a college town along the Guadalupe River. Driftwood, Wimberley, Woodcreek, and Dripping Springs are all located in the Hill Country which is southeast of Austin.
