One of my good friends sent me a link to a live stream of her mare who is due to foal any day. The feed is wonderful and I am now “watching” for the upcoming birth. This is a great way for horse owners , or any other animal owner for that matter, to moniter an upcoming birth event. The service is called Mare Stare and it is very reasonable in my eyes. Not only reasonable but it has Twitter and Facebook updates too! My mares will be foaling out this spring on pasture and who knows they may have foaled out last night since we had the “snow event” here in Bastrop! But next year I hope to participate with Mare Stare live feeds

I received this picture via email. It had been passed on from lots of people and I just can’t resist posting it for all to see. With foaling season at hand, and with the screwy weather we are all having someone out there somewhere may need to duplicate this in a pinch if they get caught with a new foal and bad weather ! This is just too adorable for words!

My owners found a way to blanket me!

I only have two foals coming this season and I have blankets ready if needed. If anyone out there gets caught without one head to your closet or to the local thrift store. Great idea! Thanks to whom ever first posted the picture and started the email traveling!

Traveling with horses to Canada – overnight stop in Michigan

My husband just recently hauled four horses from Bastrop Texas to a small town in southern Onterio Canada area. Each night of the trip across the US there were planned stops where the horses could be unloaded for for some down time each night. The last stop was at Windmill Equestrian Centre Inc. in Casco Michigan.

My husband sais that this is a nice facilty with over seventy stalls and an indoor arena. The proprietor is Vickie Fequeron who was very gracious. She said that she does get quite a bit of business with traveling horses headed to Canada for overnight stays. There are some hotels with a wide range in pricing in the nearby area. My husband said the facilities were very nice and the staff was very accomodating. I like the fact that they have Paints too! Keep it in mind if you are ever traveling with horses in the northern part of Michigan!

His dam Sarah is bred to Fusion ( full brother to Impress to Obsess ) for an early 2010 foal.
