Bastrop has a beautiful river walk along the Colorado River between the Old Iron Bridge ( Chestnut/150 Loop and the current Hwy 71 bridge. It is about a one mile walk between the Ferry Park located on Water Street and Fishermans Park which is located at the end of Farm Street. This riverwalk was constructed around 1998 and dedicated to J. Pape. There is ample parking at Fisherman’s Park but limited parking along Water Street. During the Christmas Holiday the river walk is decorated and very pretty to walk at night but is always a great walk any time of the year!

Local feed store delivers in Bastrop

Bastrop Feeds is a local feed store located on the west side of Hwy 71 before the Colorado River in Bastrop, and they deliver! They have all types of feed and supplies for for farm and ranch and always have a great supply of quality hay and alfalfa available. And like I mentioned before…they deliver…which in this day and age can be such a time saver!

Although you can see the sign and building ( you can’t miss the pink deer blind and the windmills!) from the Hwy, it is a bit tricky to get to the first time.

If you are traveling west on Hwy 71 you need to get off on the Loop 150- Hassler exit and then continue straight on the feeder road and it will be on your right just past Hassler. Heading east in to Bastrop just past the Colorado River you take the first exit and then immediately take the turn around under the Hwy at Hassler to head west and it is a half block down on your right.

Custom wash racks and patience poles made in Bastrop

A number of years ago I needed a wash rack but did not want to build something permanent. Now I have a wash rack that can be moved if necessary. I also wanted to have a “patience pole” a training aid that many professionals use. Both were manufactured by my husband here in his shop in Bastrop. I have shared photos of these with other horse people and he has custom made quite a few.

He also makes pasture/stall covers and builds custom barns. The patience poles and wash racks can be custom made to fit specific needs ( such as minis). If you are interested in getting a quote for any of these items please contact Roger Rowland 512-769-5016.

Making charity donations one way of giving back.

As part of the way I can give back to the local community I developed a program where I work in conjunction with my Clients to make a donation of a portion of my earned commissions when we have a successful closing either buying or selling to one of the many charities in need.

I will happily make the appropriate donation at our upcoming closing to any one of the programs listed on my Charity page on my website and I let my Clients choose which one I should make the donation to.

Another way donations to get creative with donations we most recently have done is to use the funds to shop for infant outfits that were donated to the Family Crisis Center in Bastrop for distribution.

If my Clients have a different charity they are familiar with that they would like to benefit from a donation please they can send me the information and I will make it happen after our closing be they the Buyers I represent or the Sellers who’s property I have sold.

I am always grateful for the work as a Realtor and this is just one small way for me to say thank you to the community.
