			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Here is a short video I put together of the paths/trails on the seven acres at 158 Winfield Thicket in Bastrop.  I walked this property yesterday afternoon right after it had begun to rain to  see if the wet weather creeks were running.  As you will see in the video they were just starting to gather water  run off when I got there.  These creeks  only run when the rain falls in the right area above them,  and they can run hard and fast if the rain is a big one.  The paths/trails on this property wander to and fro and up and down the varying terrain and cross over these small creek beds in a number of different places all making for some great hiking or trail riding right on the property!</p>

<p><strong>Where is 158 Winfield Thicket?</strong></p>
<p>It is located on a small ridge line in Alum Creek in the lost pines area of Bastrop county between Highway 71 and the Colorado River very near to Colo Vista nestled between some local ranches on a county maintained dead end gravel road.</p>
<p><strong>What are the local amenities?</strong></p>
<p>From this property you are minutes away from the<a href="http://www.horsepropertyspecialist.com/bastrop-county-texas/bastrop"> town of Bastrop</a> which has lots of restaurants, box stores, grocery, medical /dental offices,  and local shopping (antiques/collectibles/etc).  There are a couple of  golf courses nearby, two state parks,  McKinney Roughs and Walnut Creek have riding trails, the Colorado River and Lake Bastrop for fishing and kayaking  just to name some of the  things that the Bastrop area has to offer.</p>
<p><strong>What is the property like?</strong></p>
<p>The property has varied terrain from hillside to level with a couple of small wet weather creeks that cross through it.  It is fully fenced.  There are lots of big pines, and oaks and the ground is mostly a sandy loam type.</p>
<p>The best part are all of the cleared paths and trails that meander around the property under the big pines that are perfect for walking or biking or even riding a horse.</p>
<p><strong>What is so special about the house?</strong></p>
<p>The house is a newer custom built home that has main level living with a large master suite, great room style living area with fire place to take the chill of on those cooler days, big dining/kitchen with breakfast bar and pantry.  The media room is wired for sound and has oak built in.  The loft is a great area for entertaining or recreation, I picture it in my mind with a pool table.  There is a small bar in the loft and it has a full bath as well as a guest bedroom adjacent to it. The garage is over sized and there is an RV pad next to the garage.  The covered porch is a wonderful place to relax and watch the wildlife.</p>
<p><strong>Do you consider this to be a horse property?</strong></p>
<p>I consider this property to be what I would call  &#8221;horse friendly&#8221;.  It does not have any facility for keeping horses but it is fully fenced.  The fencing is barbed wire but many horses are barb wire smart these days.  A hot wire could be added to the top to keep horses of the fencing.   The sandy loam soil is a plus for drainage and there is an area before the drive in gate just off Winfield Thicket  with it&#8217;s own access gate that would be a perfect spot for a barn and trailer parking.  I think that the paths/trails would be great riding to keep a horse legged up.  There is always McKinney Roughs or  Walnut Creek nearby to trailer and ride if you need a change of scenery.</p>
